Anthony M. Caltieri

Anthony M. Caltieri, 88, of Macungie, died Dec. 14, 2016, in the Lehigh Valley Health Network, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Armida M. (Casselia) Caltieri. They celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary in August. Born in New York City, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Carol (Sarlo) Caltieri.

He was a tractor trailer instructor for the former Schaefer Brewery of Williamsburg, N.Y. for 35 years and served on the New York City Board of Education for 20 years, retiring in 2002.

He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the American Legion in New York and the U.S. Navy Cruiser Sailors Association.

He was a collector of antique Lionel trains, enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a self-taught pianist.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Carol and her husband Patrick Cully, of Lynbrook, N.Y; granddaughter, Karen; stepdaughters, RoseAnn and her husband Daniel Gagliardi, of Emmaus, Marie and her husband Thomas Buonanno, of Macungie, Janine and her husband Robert Mineo, of Brooklyn, N.Y; stepson, Joseph La Russa, of Quakertown; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Michael and Charles; sister, Theresa D’Eramo.
