Drug arrest made in Coplay Borough

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin announced Dec. 14 an investigation by the district attorney’s Drug Task Force has led to a significant arrest in Coplay.

Michael Louis Frasier, 27, of 136 Front St., Coplay, has been charged with six counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; seven counts of possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Along with the drug charges, Frasier has been charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, a felony of the second degree.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Frasier was the subject of a drug investigation conducted by the drug task force. In the course of the investigation, searches of Frasier’s person, automobile and residence were conducted, and quantities of heroin, cocaine, methamphetamines, marijuana and Fentanyl were found, along with packaging materials, a digital scale and a marijuana grinder.

Amounts and estimated street values of the drugs were 215 grams of heroin, valued at $70,000; 70 grams of cocaine, valued at $5,000; 35 grams of methamphetamine, valued at $3,500; and 350 milliliters of liquid Fentanyl, with a value of $1,000.

In addition to the drugs and paraphernalia, $42,000 in cash, as well as four handguns, were discovered in the residence. Two of the handguns had been reported stolen to Easton Police Department Oct. 13. Two vehicles were seized as a result of the investigation.

On Dec. 9, Frasier was sent to Lehigh County Jail on a state parole violation and the drug charges stemming from the search of his person. He was charged Dec. 13 with additional drug and the stolen property charges based on the searches of his car and residence.

His total bail amount is $650,000.

The investigation is continuing.

Martin commended the drug task force members for their efforts in apprehending Frasier and noted they were aided by the vice/intelligence units of Coplay Borough and Bethlehem police departments.
