Theresa “Tessie” M. Hertzog, 94, of Walnutport, formerly of Slatington, died Dec. 18, 2016, in her home.

She was the wife of the late Michael J. Hertzog.

Born April 7, 1922, in Nazareth, she was the daughter of the late Peter S. and Mary (Millner) Stelzmann.

She was employed in the housekeeping department of the former ASH Hospital, now Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, and Palmerton Hospital for several years before retiring.

Before that, she was a sewing machine operator in various textile mills in the Lehigh Valley.

She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Slatington.

Her survivors include children Larry M. Hertzog and his wife, Cindy, of Walnutport, Joan L. Hertzog, with whom she resided; grandchildren Richard B. Hertzog and his wife, Jennifer, of Emmaus, Kimberly A. Dunn and her husband, Michael, of Allentown; great- grandchildren, Zachary and Abigail Dunn, Austin Hertzog; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Dec. 23 at Assumption BVM Roman Catholic Church, 633 W. Washington St., Slatington, with the Rev. Eric R. Arnout as celebrant.

There will be no calling hours. Interment will follow the Mass in the parish cemetery.
