Eugene E. Ordway Jr., M.D., 66, of Upper Macungie Township, died Dec. 12, 2016, at his summer home in the Frisco community on Hatteras Island, N.C.

He and his wife Carolyn D. (Kemp) Ordway were married Oct. 21, 1995.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Eugene E. Sr., and Clementine (Kozak) Ordway.

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Kutztown.

Completing his undergraduate studies at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colo., he received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and physical sciences in 1973.

He graduated from Hahnemann Medical School, Philadelphia, in 1977 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

He completed his residency and fellowship in interventional cardiology at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, and was an interventional cardiologist in the Lehigh Valley for more than 25 years.

Last in practice with Dr. John J. Cassel, Allentown, he retired from practice in 2005.

He enjoyed offshore fishing and was a licensed private pilot.

In addition to his wife of 21 years, he is survived by his children Eugene E. III, of Coopersburg; Lauren M. Ordway, of Miami, Fla., David W. and Garrett K., both at home; sister Karen C. (Ordway) wife of William Hose, of York; brother David D. Ordway and his wife, Karen, of Carlsbad, Calif.; and three beloved dogs.
