R. Marie Brown, 87, of Lower Macungie Township, died Dec. 5, 2016, at Above & Beyond Assisted Living, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Albert R. Brown, who died in 2007. Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Ruth Mae (Bredbenner) Puhak.

She graduated from Hazleton High School, Class of 1947 and worked at Biscombe Insurance Agency, Hazleton, after graduation.

She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and the Emmaus Public Library.

She was an avid dancer in high school and was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus.

She is survived by daughters, Bonnie B. Jacobson, of Ambler and Mary Louise Salemi, of Rochester, N.Y.; four granddogs. She was predeceased by a brother, George E. Puhak, Jr. and a sister, Jean Louise Sube.
