Louis “Loitch” F. Jany, 90, of Northampton, died Dec. 4, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Rose (Deibert) Jany for 67 years.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Frank and Anna (Yelensits) Janny.
He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was awarded the Victory Medal.
He worked for Universal Atlas Cement Company for many years and retired from Lehigh Cement Company.
He was a member of Queenship of Mary Church, Northampton, the Holy Name Society and was an usher.
He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 454, Northampton Liederkranz and St. Peter and Paul Hungarian Society.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Louis A. and his wife Donna of Whitehall and Ronald A. and his wife Kim of Coplay; a daughter, Donna and her husband Daniel Schmalzer of Bath; seven grandchildren, Jason, Melanie, Brandon, Laura, Lisa, Joshua and Derek; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Stephen Janny of Northampton.
He was predeceased by eight siblings.
