FALCON INSIDER
As the holidays approach students are becoming more excited for winter break, but there are quite a few events between then and now happening at Salisbury High School.
To start the week off, there is the Salisbury beach towel fundraiser to support the Salisbury swimming and diving team. Towels are 30-inch by 60-inch white towels with the Salisbury falcon logo. Orders must be placed by Dec. 15 for delivery Dec. 20. There are three locations your towel can be delivered: Salisbury High School, Salisbury Middle School or KidsPeace on Broadway. Choose the pick-up location when ordering. If you have any questions, contact Maggie Bonge at 610-737- 0018.
The Salisbury High School Key Club will host its annual holiday party Dec. 17 for Western Salisbury Elementary and Harry S Truman Elementary students where Key Club members will lead the children through the fun activities planned. Sign-ups start 9:30 a.m. followed by activities 10 a.m. to noon. Parents will be able to pick up their children noon to 12:15 p.m. Activities will include arts and crafts, games and sports. Students will be able to support our Troops during activities like writing letters or making paracord bracelets to send overseas. Donations from parents are accepted and are greatly appreciated. There will also be raffles for holiday flowers/fruit baskets that will occur throughout the party. For any additional information or questions, contact khutchinson@salisburysd.org.
No Place for Hate is hosting its second annual ChapStick® fundraiser for students during the entire month of December. There are five different flavors of ChapStick®: french vanilla, cake frosting, cherry berry, mango peach and peppermint. Each tube has positive messages on the label that directly correspond with No Place for Hate’s message of positivity and acceptance. For example on french vanilla the message is, “Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody” and on cherry berry the message is, “You have the power to change the world.” For any questions about the fundraiser emails can be directed to Laura DosSantos at ldossantos@salisburysd.org.
Winter break for SHS students starts with an early dismissal 12:15 p.m. Dec. 23. Students then have off the following week Dec. 26 to Jan. 2, 2017. School starts up again in the New Year Jan. 3, 2017.
That’s all for now Salisbury. Until next time, have a Happy Holiday and a great New Year!
