Anita D. Eppel, 85, of Emmaus, died Dec. 7, 2016, in Above and Beyond Senior Living. She was the longtime fiancee of Hans D. Plachetzki. Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Josef and Anna Dorothea (Bucheit) Darimont.

She worked in the office for the former Fairtex.

She is survived by a daughter, Elaine I. Cornetto, of Macungie; brother, Hans Jurgen, of Germany; sister, Ingrid Steffes, of Germany; grandchildren, Paulette and her husband Brent Labenberg and Anthony D. Cornetto III and his wife Courtney; great-grandchildren, Drew, Darren, Dylana, Isabella, Sylvie and Lilia.

A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Dec. 17 at St. John’s U.C.C., 139 N. Fourth St., Emmaus. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
