Charles E. Brader
Charles E. Brader, 89, of Laurys Station, died Nov. 8, 2016, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of the late Beulah A. (Hinkle) Brader.
Born May 26, 1927, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Samuel R. and Nellie (Easterday) Brader.
He was a 1945 graduate of the former South Whitehall High School.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II
He was the founder and owner of Brader’s Woodcraft Inc., Laurys Station, from 1956-93.
Active in the life of his church and community, he was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Laurys Station, where he formerly served on the council and was past president of the cemetery association.
He was a Rawd member of Grundsau Lodge No. 1, served 18 years on the Cabinet Making Advisory Board of LCTI, served many years on the former Merchant’s Bank Real Estate Appraisal Board, and was a member of the Blue Ridge Senior Golf League.
A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member of Chapman Lodge 637, a member of Siegfried Royal Arch Chapter 295, and a member of Lehigh Consistory, Valley of Allentown.
His survivors include companion Carolyn M. Frantz with whom he resided; son Edwin C. Brader and his wife, Barbara, of Palmerton; daughter Nancy J. Eck of Coplay; grandchildren Candice R. Eck of Norristown, Robert E. Eck and his wife, Casey of Nazareth; great-grandchildren Connor and Mackenzie.
He was predeceased by a son-in-law Garry D. Eck.
