Joyce E. Yenser
Joyce Evelyn (Berger) Yenser, 91, died Nov. 21, 2016, at Lehigh Commons, Macungie, just a stone’s throw from the farm where she was born. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Yenser. They were married 66 years. She was the daughter of the late Charles Alvin Berger and Maggie Missouri (Leiby) Berger and lived on a farm on Mill Creek Road.
She graduated with honors from Allen High School in 1943, the first of the family of nine children to do so.
She and her husband built their own home, built and ran her husband’s roofing business and raised five children on Brookside Road in Lower Macungie Township.
Prior to her marriage she was employed by the First National Bank and Harold Stevens Purveyors, Allentown. From 1967 she worked for Trexler-Haines Gas until her retirement.
She was a lifelong Phillies fan.
She is survived by her children, Susan M. and her husband Philip Kuder, of Topton, Nancy E., of Gainesville, Fla. and State College, Lee R. and his wife Loretta, of Macungie, Linda M. and her husband Curt Zellner, of Allentown and Mark W. and his wife Suzanne, of Winter Park, Fla; grandchildren, Adam, Dustin and Eric Yenser and step-grandchildren Jacob, Joshua, Alexandra and Josiah Welch; stepgreat-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their progeny. The last of her generation, she was predeceased by siblings Florence, Charles Edgar, Warren, Lester, George, Kathryn, Grant and Esther.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Dec. 10 at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown, 18103.
