LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

FALCON INSIDER

As the month of December starts and Christmas is rapidly approaching, Salisbury High School has a few things in store for the holidays.

To start off the holiday cheer at SHS the winter choral and instrumental concert is scheduled 7 p.m. Dec. 1.

The concert will feature performances from the concert band, concert chorus and the a cappella choral group Descant Get Enough and Give Me Fortissimore. There will be a wide range of songs including “Bonse Aba,” which is a traditional African folk-song and “One Candle” which is a traditional song played at the winter concert to conclude the program. Any alumni members attending the concert are invited to join the performers on stage during “One Candle.”

The concert is expected to last an hour followed by a reception where food and drink will be provided to performers and audience members.

Salisbury High School invites students, parents and community members to donate any new or unopened toys to “Toys for Tots” hosted this year by the Student Government Advisory. Toys donated will be gifted to less fortunate children during the holiday season, with the collecting concluding Dec. 9. There will be a table at the winter choral and instrumental concert where donations can be collected. Attendees to the concert are encouraged to bring any small toys for the drive.

Keystone Testing for SHS students starts Dec. 5 and continues until Dec. 16. Students may be tested in biology, Algebra or literature and are urged to get a full night of sleep in preparation.

There will be a few school board meetings at the administration building starting 7 p.m. Dec. 7. The reorganization meeting starts off the night followed by a regular school board meeting, a curriculum and technology committee meeting and a operations committee meeting.
