Northampton: Block party planned

Northampton Area Public Library will hold a preschool block party 10 a.m. Dec. 3. This program includes playing and building with NAPL’s block collection. Children can have fun while, at the same time, strengthen vocabulary and learn problem-solving, reading readiness and social skills. This program is recommended for preschoolers ages 2 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

No registration is required for this event.

The library also will hold a family Christmas craft workshop 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. Dec. 15.

St. John’s Friendly Fifties will hold its annual Christmas dinner Dec. 7 at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave.

Doors will open 11:30 a.m.

Entertainment will be provided by Emmaus Baptist Academy’s “Ring the Bells.”

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet noon Dec. 14 at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open 11 a.m.

Those planning to attend must have a ticket.

Food and entertainment will be provided.

Quota Club of Northampton is again accepting contributions of either new, unwrapped gifts of your own choosing, gift cards or a financial donation for the club’s “elves” to shop with. Volunteers will arrange for the purchase, wrapping and delivery of gifts for kids in this community.

The club also will operate a Christmas store Dec. 3 for young clients of Northampton Area Food Bank. At Judy’s Little Shoppers Shop, each child will be able to pick out a gift for every member of the family at no charge. In addition to gifts for children, the club is looking for small gifts for dads and teenage boys.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 will host a polka and button box event 7:30-10:30 p.m. every Friday at the Post home, Main Street and Laubach Avenue.
