The Moose is loose:“Mooseltoe,” a holiday-themed musical, will be presented at 2 p.m. Nov. 26, State Theatre Center for the Arts, Easton. The title character, a Moose with a dream, and his friends come to life in the colorful, magical and whimsical musical. The sparkling new production has 17 costumed characters, including three snobby penguins, an Edward G. Robinsonesque snowman, a walrus named Willy, two elves and Santa Claus. Eight original songs accompany the hour-long odyssey of self-discovery. Al Roker narrates the story. Celebrities from Broadway, TV and the movies provide the voices of the title character. Set designer Kelly Tighe invokes the enchanting and magical world that Mooseltoe and his friends inhabit. Costume designers are David Leanza and Randy Carafagno. “Fancy” Christmas:“Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas” will be presented at 2 p.m. Nov. 26, Miller Symphony Hall, Allentown. The musical, with book by Cara Lustik, lyrics by Matthew Hardy and music by Randy Klein, is based on the book written by Jane O’Connor and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser. The show is directed and choreographed by Sam Viverito. The cast includes Nick Carroll, Taylor Coriell, Marc Cornes, Gabriell Petrosino and Kaitlyn Sage. In the storyline, Nancy can’t wait to decorate the Christmas tree. But when things don’t turn out the way Nancy planned, will Christmas still be splendiferous? LV Christmas finale:It’s the last year for “A Lehigh Valley Christmas in Concert,” 7 p.m. Nov. 27, which concludes with its 20th annual edition. Hear area musicians perform renditions of favorite holiday classics in music genres from folk to jazz and classical to blues.
