Halloween was celebrated early at the Miracle League of Lehigh Valley’s annual trick or treat event held at Jaindl Family Park, Heidelberg Township.

On Oct. 19, hundreds of children and their families came out to trick or treat in a safe and familiar environment alongside some of their closest friends.

According to Kate Miller, executive director of the Miracle League, there were over 60 vendors at this year’s Halloween bash.

The vendors went all out with a variety of themes; some were slightly spooky and others were fun and silly.

Collectively, they provided a carnival-like experience that provided not only candy, but also entertainment and games for kids of all ages.

Even Santa took some time away from preparing for the holidays to take photos with the kids and maybe even listen to a holiday wish or two.

Created to serve a growing population of children with special needs, the Miracle League is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

Since 2006, the group has offered children with special needs and other developmental disabilities the opportunity to play baseball as well as participate in several other yearly events.
