Dec. 1 is the first winter concert of the year.

Salisbury High School will hold its winter choral and instrumental concert 7 p.m.

Western Salisbury Elementary School is inviting the fourth and fifth grade parents to its grade four and five and band/chorus concert 2 p.m. Dec. 7.

The Salibury Middle School winter concert will be held 7 p.m. Dec. 8.

Keystone testing will start Dec. 5 at the high school. These are make-up tests from last spring and not for the entire school. Your student will be notified if they need to take a test.

All schools are closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 24, 25 and 28.

A curriculum and technology meeting is scheduled 7 p.m. Dec. 7; this will be immediately followed by an operations meeting, both at the administration building.

The Devonshire drop-off center is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 3 and 6. These will be the last days the drop-off is open this year; it is closed the week before Christmas. The days of operation are the first and third Tuesday and Saturday of the month.

As always, I will make my plea to please be nice to the retail workers as you shop this Black Friday weekend. They are working long hours, sacrificing time with family so you can get those great deals. Also, be patient, because some of those workers have only been doing this a short time and are nervous already, let alone with someone glaring at them because they aren’t fast enough. So again, be kind and be patient and have a happy, happy Thanksgiving!
