Gladys A. “Gabby” Ruth, 71, of Daytona Beach, Fla., formerly of Emmaus, died Nov. 7, 2016, in her residence. She was the wife of Russel H. Ruth, with whom she celebrated 31 years of marriage. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Earl H. and Martha I. (Covely) Bartholomew.
She was a member of Emmaus High School, Class of 1963.
She worked in sales for the former Emil Otto Woman’s Clothing Store, Allentown.
She loved dancing and danced at Martha J’s, loved to travel, go to fairs, working outside with plants and flowers and was good at crafts and decorating. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She had beautiful piercing blue eyes and a wonderful smile. She was a beautiful woman with a beautiful personality.
She is survived by her husband; children, Teddy Billman and his wife Tina, of Emmaus, Terry D. Billman and his wife Michelle, of Jim Thorpe, Tonya Knauss, of Orefield; grandchildren, Elliot Billman and family, Brittany Billman, Michelle Knecht and family, Heather Baraldi and family, Maddison Soos, and Brett and Ryan Knauss. She was predeceased by a daughter, Shelly A. Billman and brothers, Richard G. and Frederick E. Bartholomew.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Dec. 10 in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
