As the holidays are approaching and Salisbury High School students and staff prepare for Thanksgiving break, activities are slowing down in the next two weeks.
Salisbury High School students will have two early dismissals before Thanksgiving break; one Nov. 18 and another Nov. 23. Students will dismiss 12:15 p.m.
Thanksgiving break starts Nov. 24 and ends Nov. 29. Students are able to enjoy their break with a leisurely five-day weekend to visit friends or family for the holidays. Happy Thanksgiving, Falcons!
The Salisbury Township School District will host the second annual community breakfast for residents, employees and alumni who have made their reservations. The breakfast is 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 19 at Salisbury High School. The menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and juices. In addition to the food, Salisbury will be recognize our inaugural Alumni Wall of Honor recipients during the breakfast.
In addition to those events, SHS recognizes November as National Diabetes Month and has posted an informational flyer on the school website providing important information on diabetes and links for additional information. The flyer reminds readers millions of people are affected by diabetes in the United States, lists many of the symptoms that can occur with diabetes and offers resources to help manage diabetes.
SHS also recognizes the Great American Smoke-Out event hosted by the American Cancer Society Nov. 17. The event challenges those who smoke tobacco (cigarettes, cigars, pipes, hookah) to quit, as smoking leads to an increased chance of developing lung cancer. The SHS website also provides an informational flyer with links for additional information.
