John D. Klingaman

John D. Klingaman, 95, of South Whitehall Township, died Nov. 10, 2016, at home.

He was the husband of the late Verna J. (James) Klingaman, who died in October.

Born in Meyersdale, he was the son of the late Edgar T. and Sadie (Peck) Klingaman.

He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Allentown.

Before retiring in 1982, he taught Industrial Arts at Allen High School and later at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute.

An Army veteran of WWII, he received a Purple Heart award.

He dedicated many years and received awards for volunteering at VA medical clinics in Allentown and Wilkes-Barre and was a member of the American Legion.

His survivors include many devoted and loving friends whom he considered his family.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Nov. 18, at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W Highland St., Allentown.

Calling begins 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Grandview Cemetery, South Whitehall.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Military Order of the Purple Heart, c/o the funeral home.
