Cetronia, Greenawalds and Woodlawn fire departments were dispatched at 7:24 p.m. Nov. 4 for a house fire at 530 Chelsea Lane, South Whitehall Township.

The caller reportedly said a couch was on fire at the front door of the home.

When firefighters arrived, they found a chair burning outside the front door. The chair had been move there by the homeowner.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.

Smoke throughout the first floor of the home was removed by firefighters with fans.

Cetronia Ambulance Corps and South Whitehall police were also on scene.

Units from Alburtis and Western Salisbury fire departments were also dispatched, but were quickly recalled due to the small nature of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by South Whitehall Fire Marshal John Frantz.
