K-9 Jack (The Ripper), 10, of Catasauqua Police Department’s K-9 Unit, died Oct. 29, 2016. He lived with his handler, Officer John T. Wiseman, P.F.C.

He served the citizens of Catasauqua Borough and the Lehigh Valley for eight years.

He was involved with many high-profile drug-related arrests, community service projects and visitations to the schools and YMCA, among others.

He was scheduled to retire in a few weeks.

He was treated by Dr. Ervin and HanoverView Animal Hospital, Bath. He was cremated at Cloud Nine Pet Services, Breinigsville.

There will be a calling hour 6-7 p.m., followed by a memorial service 7 p.m., both Nov. 10 at the funeral home, 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua.
