Shoppers will find unique handcrafted items and a large selection of homemade foods, while helping children and their families in need. The sixth annual homemade holiday sale to benefit the Mrs. Nothstein’s Helping Hands Fund is the place to go.
Thirty-seven crafters and a host of bakers will be filling the social hall of St. John Fisher Church at 1239 Third St., North Catasauqua. The sale will be open to the public 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Nov. 10, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Nov. 11 and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 12.
Holiday décor, gifts, jewelry, handpainted objects, knitted and crocheted items, quilling, home-canned foods, quilted items, re-purposed furniture, photography, hundreds of handmade Christmas ornaments and much more will be available for sale. A percentage of craft sales go directly to the fund.
Pierogies, halupki, haluski, turkey bowls and sausage sandwiches will be available to eat in or take out during the sale. Apple dumplings, kiffles and a wide selection of home-baked treats will be offered for sale. All food sales will return 100 percent of the profit to the fund.
Deb Nothstein could never look beyond a child in need. That is why, after her sudden passing over six years ago, her family, friends and co-workers established the Mrs. Nothstein’s Helping Hands Fund. The fund has distributed over $50,000 in assistance with needed items for children and their families experiencing hardships.
Financial support comes from private donations and the proceeds from this annual sale. Support for the sale will make a significant difference in someone’s life.
All assistance is done on a personal level with food, clothing, medical and personal needs going directly to the individual or family in need.
The committee is accepting donations of baked goods at the church and throughout the sale. Monetary donations can be sent anytime to Bill Nothstein at 1214 Fourth St., Catasauqua, 18032. Checks should be made payable to Mrs. Nothstein’s Helping Hands Fund.
