Zion’s Union Church collecting socks for the homeless

Members of Zion’s Union Church Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, are collecting new socks for men, women, children and infants to be distributed to local organizations for the homeless.

Donations may be placed in the box in the gathering area of the church. The collection runs until Nov. 13.

There will be a Thanksgiving service 7:30 p.m. Nov. 23.

Ziegels Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will host its second annual One-Stop Shop featuring 15 vendors 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 19.

There will also be a basket party fundraiser with proceeds going to fight pediatric cancer.

Pajama Day at both services will be Nov. 20.

Wear pajamas to church and bring a pair for children served by the Blessings Shop at Christ’s Church at Lowhill Food Pantry.

Pajamas will be collected until Dec. 11.

The church will be hosting a Thanksgiving Eve Service 7 p.m. on Nov. 23.

Communion will be offered Moravian style.

All are welcome to come and give thanks to God.

The library and Apprise Counseling are offering a Medicare enrollment assistance event 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 16 and 23.

Bring knitting supplies and join fellow knitters at the Knitting Circle 2 p.m. Nov. 17.

Spend an afternoon swapping knitting tips and tricks.
