Francis Xavier “Doc” Kelly, 81, from New Tripoli, died on Nov. 5, 2016, surrounded by his loving family in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He and his wife Carol J. (Gable) Kelly were married 58 years last May 17.
Born Oct. 31, 1935, in Philadelphia, he was the oldest son of the late Francis E. and Dorothy R. (Keen) Kelly.
A graduate of West Philadelphia Catholic School for Boys, he served in the National Guard as a warrant officer and was honorably discharged in 1961.
He was a nuclear medicine service engineer for Picker International with corporate headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, for many years before retiring.
He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield, where he served as an usher.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Francis E. and his wife, Jennifer, of New Tripoli, Patricia T. Quattrini and her husband, Augustino, of Allentown, Kathleen K. Modrowsky and her husband, John, of Florham Park, N.J.; brother Terrance Kelly and his wife, Nora, of Philadelphia; sister, Mandy Lain of Broomall; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
