Elmer Vernon Nester

E. Vernon Nester, 88, formerly of Emmaus, died Nov. 6, 2016, in Phoebe, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Florence A. (Lorish) Nester. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Elmer and Mabel (Fegley) Nester.

He worked as a draftsman for Kraft in Allentown for many years, retiring in 1990. Previously he worked as a welder for Superior Combustion, Emmaus.

He was a member of Old Zionsville U.C.C.

He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

He enjoyed family, golfing, Indian Creek Golf Course and the cabin at Lake Wynonna.

He is survived by a son, Dennis E. and his wife Debbie, of Gettysburg; daughter, Debra E. and her husband Ronald Moyer, of Orefield; brothers, Raymond and his wife, Ethel and Kermit and his wife, Jean; sisters, Annabelle Buss and Mae Wentz and her husband Kenneth Nicholas; brother-in-law, Carl Lorish; sister-in-law, Millie Kohler; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Douglas E. and Donald E.; daughter, Donna E.
