A slide-lecture, “A History of Lehigh County,” will be presented at 1 p.m. Nov. 5, Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, 432 W. Walnut St., Allentown.
From Native American times through the present day, Lehigh County has offered opportunities in agriculture and industry. Native Americans not only grew corn, beans and squash, they mined jasper and shaped it into stone tools that were traded across much of North America.
Early settlers, mainly from Germany and Great Britain, continued the tradition of farming, adding mills, stores and craftsmen’s shops.
