Northampton: Toy run is Nov. 5
The sixth annual Tucker’s Toy Run will be held Nov. 5 at Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, 21st and Canal streets.
The ride honors the life and memory of Tucker Stuart, who died in 2011 as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Arrival time is 11 a.m., with kickstands up noon. The ride will continue from the Tri-Boro parking lot to St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. Gifts will be distributed to children in the pediatric unit and to other needy children in the Lehigh Valley.
Event organizers also are collecting for Le-Hampton Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 35, Bethlehem Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 20 and various animal rescue groups.
A lunch buffet will be held 2-4 p.m. back at Tri-Boro. Refreshments will be served until 8 p.m.
There is a cost.

A U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots kick-off dance will be held Nov. 5 at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave.
Doors open 5:30 p.m. The Exceptions will perform 7-11 p.m. Deejay Mike Mitman will entertain between band sets.
There is a cost.
Those planning to attend also are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy.

Good Shepherd Catholic School will hold A Night at the Races Nov. 5 in the school gym, 1300 Newport Ave.
Doors open 6 p.m. Food will be served 6:30 p.m. The racing begins 7 p.m.
This event is for those age 21 and over. Seating is limited to the first 200 tickets sold.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet Nov. 9 at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave.
Doors open noon. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided.

Northampton Joint Veterans will present a Veterans Day Service 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the veterans plaza, at 14th Street and Washington and Dewey avenues.
Members of Fred A. Snyder American Legion Post 353, Catholic War Veterans Post 454 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 will preside.
All are invited to attend.
The VFW will then hold a veteran and customer appreciation day 7:30-10:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Post home, Main Street and Laubach Avenue.
Free hot dogs and snacks will be provided, and there will be drink specials.
Entertainments will be polka and button box music.

Northampton Area Public Library will host Come Write In every Monday night in November. This event is in association with National Novel Writing Month, and the library will offer a space for writers to meet, exchange ideas and write.
An adult coloring group has resumed 6 p.m. Nov. 2. Bring your supplies or use the library’s!
Munchkin Music will take place 10 a.m. Nov. 14. This program includes music and movement for early childhood. Registration is required.
The library also will hold Life Hacks – Cooking 101 for teens 4 p.m. Nov. 15. Teens can come to learn how to make tasty treats for the holidays.
The library holds a Teen Advisory Group and an Anime/Manga Club each month for teens.
A presentation on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will take place 10 a.m. Nov. 19. Learn how to navigate the public marketplace to get insurance through ACA. Registration is required.
An adult Christmas craft will take place 6 p.m. Nov. 30. Registration is required.

St. John’s Friendly Fifties will meet 1 p.m. Nov. 14 in the church’s social hall, 1343 Newport Ave.
The speaker will be Robert Martin Nucher, who will talk about Northampton Area Food Bank.
All members are asked to bring an unexpired canned or boxed food item for the food bank.
New members are always welcome.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1235 Main St., will hold a bingo, featuring Longaberger and Vera Bradley items, Nov. 19.
Doors open 11:30 a.m., and bingo starts 1 p.m.
