Ida S.E. Wertman, 93, of New Tripoli, died Sept. 14, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She was the wife of the late Lester A. Wertman who was killed Dec. 25, 1944, while serving his country during WWII.

Born in Lynnville, she was a daughter of the late William and Ida (Ebert) Hartman.

A member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli, she was a former choir member.

Her survivors include daughter Darlene A. Wertman, at home, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters Grace Berk and Roma Fey; brother Paul Hartman; stepbrother William Wertman; and her longtime companions Carl German and most recently Myles A. Miller Sr.
