Purse and basket bingo to benefit twirlers

The booster club for Salisbury Twirlers will host the annual purse and basket bingo Nov. 13 at Salisbury Middle School. Doors open noon with bingo starting promptly 1 p.m. Twenty regular games and four specials will be played along with raffles, refreshments and door prizes. Picture retake day for Western Salisbury Elementary School is Nov. 1 and retake day for Salisbury Middle School is Nov. 10.

The upcoming school schedule is a little different. Nov. 4 is an early dismissal day for Harry S Truman Elementary and WSE only 11:15 a.m.

The middle school and high school dismiss at normal time.

Nov. 7 is an early dismissal day for Salisbury High School and SMS only 10:45 a.m. The elementary schools dismiss at normal time.

Last, but not least, Nov. 8 is a professional development day and all schools are closed. Don’t forget to vote because this is also election day.

Trick-or-treat night for Salisbury residents is 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28. If you have candy to hand out, have your porch light on.

Salisbury Township has begun curbside leaf collection. The trucks will start in the first ward and continue west through mid-December. Have your leaves along the edge of the road and keep vehicles away from the piles. For an up-to- date listing of where the crews will be working, visit the township website every Friday.

A curriculum and technology committee meeting is scheduled 7 p.m. Oct. 31 at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute.

An operations committee meeting will be held 7 p.m. Nov. 7 in the administration building.

The Devonshire drop-off center is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 29 and Nov. 1. The days of operation are the first and third Tuesday and Saturday of the month.
