Marie E. Correll, 91, of Slatington, died Oct. 22, 2016, in her home.

She was the wife of the late Carl C. Correll.

Born Nov. 2, 1924, in Guthsville, she was the daughter of the late Joyes A. and Emma A. (Heffendrager) Werley.

She was a waitress at several restaurants in the Schnecksville and Orefield areas for many years before retiring.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Slatington.

She will forever be remembered as a loving mother who enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach and listening to music, especially polka bands.

An excellent cook, she enjoyed preparing meals for her family, but more importantly, sacrificing her needs for the good of her family.

Her survivors include daughters, Bonnie L. Brozey and her husband, Dennis, of Allentown, Brenda K. Mankos of Slatington, Jane E. Haldeman of Slatedale, Joan M. Rissmiller and her husband, Glenn, of Blandon, Donna L. Marsh of Macungie; twin sister Marion Blaukowitch of Allentown; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.

She was predeceased by a sister, Rachel Wertman, granddaughter, Rhonda Simmons, and a great-grandson, Robert Jamison.
