Elementary school: Let the parade of costumes begin

Sheckler Elementary School students will be marching in their annual Halloween Parade Oct. 28 for families and friends to come and enjoy. The parade will begin 1:30 p.m. and can be watched from viewing areas along the route. The parade will proceed down Sheckler’s driveway from the bus parking lot, then North on 14th Street to Bridge Court, circle Bridge Court, then left onto Bridge Street and south on 14th Street and back to the school.

Please remember, in choosing your child’s costume, students are not permitted to dress in costumes that show injury, blood or pain and are not permitted to carry any weapons or fake weapons in the parade. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated with this matter.

Students will be celebrating with classroom parties following the parade.

If your child entered the annual Sheckler pumpkin decorating contest, please remember to pick up the pumpkin at the end of the day Oct. 28. Any pumpkins remaining at the end of the day will be discarded.

Cherrydale fundraiser pickup is scheduled for 1:30-6:30 p.m. Nov. 2 in the gym. If you sold any items, be sure to pick them up during these times. Thanks to everyone who participated in this fundraiser and for your continued support for the students.

The Sheckler Home and School meeting will be held 7 p.m. Nov. 2. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend.

Nov. 2 is an early dismissal day for students. Grades 1-4 will be dismissed 1:30 p.m. Kindergarten students will be on a modified schedule, with morning students meeting 8:50-10:30 a.m. and afternoon students attending class 11:40 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Trick or treat in Catasauqua will take place 6-8 p.m. Oct. 29. Have a spooktacular time, and stay safe. Happy Halloween!
