Edwin R. Snyder Sr. 81, of Macungie, died Oct. 22, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife Shirley A. (Erb) Snyder were married 58 years this past April.

Born in Lehigh County, he was a son of the late Eldred and Hulda (Gangaway) Snyder Sr.

A truck driver and laborer in Weisenberg Township for 15 years, he was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Trexlertown.

He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during the Korean War.

In addition to his wife, he is suvived by sons Donald J. and wife, Tonya, of Pittsburgh; Edwin Jr. and wife, Cindy, of New Tripoli; daughter Brenda L., wife of David Sadrovitz, of Macungie; stepson Karl Greiss and companion, Wendy, of Hagerstown, Md.; stepdaughter Mary Lou LeVan of Birdsboro; brothers Eldred Jr., of Fleetwood and Larry; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
