Ruth J. Stumpf, 96, formerly of Hokendauqua, died Oct. 3, 2016. She was the wife of the late John J. Stumpf.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late T. Eugene and Mary (Latsch) Buster.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Coplay, and of the church’s altar and rosary society.

She is survived by two daughters, Ann and her husband Frank Vitovitch of Northampton and Donna and her husband Benjamin Chrin of Cincinnatti, Ohio; a son, Thomas of Nazareth; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Lucie Stumpf; and two sisters, Helen Mayer and Jean Buster.
