HST parent visitation Oct. 20

The sights and sounds of autumn are finally all around us. Now that it is October, I am enjoying everything pumpkin I can get my hands on….yes, I’m one of “those” people. The weather is getting cooler and its almost time for those little ghosts and goblins to be walking though our streets, although these days costumes are much more complex.

Harry S Truman Elementary School will have parent visitation 1:30 to 3 p.m. Oct. 20. Look for information to be sent home with your students.

A school board meeting is scheduled 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 in the administration building.

All township schools will have an early dismissal Oct. 21. Salisbury High School and Salisbury Middle School will dismiss 10:45 a.m. while HST and Western Salisbury Elementary School will dismiss 1 p.m.

The Salisbury Township Police Department will hold a prescription drug take back event 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 22 at the South Mall. Bring all your unused or expired medications to be properly disposed.

SHS will hold health screenings Oct. 20 and 27.

HST will host Halloween celebrations Oct. 28. The annual Halloween parade will begin around 2 p.m. Refer to information sent home regarding where to park and where to anticipate being able to see students.

Oct. 28 is also trick or treat night in Salisbury Township. I can’t wait to see all the creative and unique costumes out and about this year. Trick or treat will run 6 to 8 p.m. Please be aware of trick-or-treaters walking on the streets.

There will be a curriculum and technology meeting 7 p.m. Oct. 31 at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute.

Beginning the week of Oct. 31, HST will hold its annual book fair. There will be evening hours for book fair shopping with parents 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 1 and 3. Look for more information to be sent home with your students shortly.

The Franko Farm yard waste drop-off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 22 and 25 for yard waste drop-off.
