Harvey U. Silvius, 87, formerly of Catasauqua, died Oct. 11, 2016, at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Vandergrift) Silvius.

Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Harvey U. and Mabel M. (Keller) Silvius.

He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a custodian for Salem United Church of Christ, Catasauqua, where he was a member.

He is survived by two daughters, Pat Gillette and Donna Silvius; a brother, Charles; two sisters, Stella Gallagher and Emma Price; four grandchildren, Jessica, Andrea, Allison and Jamie and her husband Justin Ciulla; and one great-granddaughter, Avah.

He was predeceased by four sisters.
