Christina C. Waschitsch

Christina “Tina”/“Chris” C. (Longo) Waschitsch, 89, of Country Meadows, died Oct. 4, 2016, at Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown, of a rare form of lymphoma. She was the wife of the late William F. Waschitsch.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Carmen A. and Barbara A. (Lettiere) Longo.

An honors student, she attended Sheridan Elementary and Herbst Opportunity schools, Harrison Morton Junior High School and was a 1945 graduate of the former Allentown High School. She won citywide honors as a guard on her basketball team.

She was a bookkeeper. She later worked at Union RX from which she retired.

She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Roman Catholic Church, Allentown, where she volunteered with tricky trays, carnivals, fundraising events and in the cafeteria.

She is survived by four daughters, Lori and her husband James Kozuch of Allentown, Wendie Waschitsch and her husband Jim Homan of Exeter Township, Kim Klein of Whitehall and Adrienne and her husband Blair Newsham of Oley; six grandchildren, Jenny Kozuch, Nick, Glen Jr., Karly and Hunter Kline and Zachary Tomasko; two step grandchildren, Rebecca and Devin Newsham; a brother, Carmen J. and his wife Catherine Longo; and a sister, Joanne and her husband George “Howie” Berner; and relatives’ families.
