Stanton K. Butz
Stanton “Bud” K. Butz Jr., 71, of Walnutport, died Sept. 25, 2016, at Fellowship Community, Whitehall. He was the husband of Mary Lou (Guth) Butz for 51 years.
Born in West Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Stanton K. Butz Sr. and Ruth (McNeill) Butz.
He was a 1963 graduate of Whitehall High School. He earned an associate degree in mechanical and electrical engineering.
He was an SP 5 Grade in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, 1968-69.
He worked at Mack Trucks Inc., Allentown, for 25 years and took his retirement in 2005. He was a designer for five years.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, Berlinsville.
He was a union representative for UAW Local 677 for 20 years.
He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1067, Emmaus; VFW Post 7293, Whitehall; American Legion Oplinger Hower Post 899, Walnutport; Veterans of the Vietnam War Inc.; Blue Ridge Rod and Gun Club; and Roosevelt Democratic Club, Lehigh Township.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lori and her husband Mark Gordon of West Chester and Tina and her husband Charles Gergits Jr. of Allentown; a brother, Ronald S. and his wife Bernice Butz of Whitehall; a sister, Ruth Ann and her husband Dennis Borst of Allentown; a brother-in-law, Richard Haines of Walnutport; and four grandchildren, Ian and Andrew Gordon and Katie and Julie Gergits.
He was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Haines.
