Norbert E. Bennett, 91, formerly of Coplay, died Sept. 26, 2016, at the home of his son. He was the husband of the late Eleanor E. (Gaumer) Bennett.

Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late George and Stella (Walbert) Bennett.

He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force and was a World War II veteran.

He was the audio-visual coordinator for 41 years for Whitehall-Coplay School District until he retired in 1990.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Coplay. He was the first lay minister in the Northeast UCC Conference.

He is survived by a son, David L. and his wife Victoria of Macungie; and three grandsons, Wade, Christopher and David A.
