William L. Shankweiler, 69, of Zionsville, died Sept. 28, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the husband of the late Paulette F. (Scheirer) Shankweiler for 47 years before her death Oct. 3, 2015. He was a son of the late Earl H. and Althea L. (Weil) Shankweiler.

He worked for numerous auto body shops including Quigley Chevrolet, Sam’s and Newton Auto Body.

He was a member of Old Zionsville United Church of Christ where he sang on the choir.

He was fond of his Pontiac GTO and going to local auto shows.

He was a member of Earl Keller Band, Crazy Willie and the Country Rangers and the Macungie Minstrelaires where he met his wife.

He is survived by a son, Paul L. and his wife, Christa; sisters, Delores Ruth and Gloria and her husband Marvin Holland; grandchildren, Melissa, Stefani, Devin, Kimberlee and Natalee; mother-in-law, Arlene V. Scheirer. He was predeceased by a son, Ronald.
