Theron J. Jones, 87, formerly of New Tripoli, died Sept. 27, 2016, in Sacred Heart Senior Living facility, Center Valley.

He was predeceased by his wife Helen (Zana) Jones in 2012.

Born in Lynn Township, he was a son of the late Raymond and Violetta (Kistler) Jones.

A lifelong self-employed farmer in Lynn Township, he was also a part-time master stone mason, until retiring in 1989.

He was a member and former deacon at Jacob’s Church, Jacksonville, Lynn Township.

A 1947 graduate of Slatington High School, he was a member of Slatington Lodge 440, F.&A.M., Royal Arch Chapter, Slatington, the Allen Commandry, Allentown, and Rajah Shrine, Reading.

His survivors include a daughter Dr. Michele D. Jones of Allentown; son Michael D. (Julie) Jones of Palmerton; sisters Betty Jane Steiner of Allentown and Violet Deibert of Cetronia; and grandchildren Theron and Dustin Jones.
