Richard F. Carney, 87, of Cherryville, died Sept. 20, 2016, at home. He was the husband of Laura (Koehler) Carney for 53 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Francis and Anna (Maher) Carney.
He was a Central Catholic High School graduate. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Lafayette College.
He was in the U.S. Navy and worked on the USS Douglas H. Fox DD779.
He was an engineer for many cement companies over the years. He retired from Fuller Company.
He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Northampton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Laura Ann and her husband Matthew Jarrett and Mary and her husband David Austin; two granddaughters, Sarah Jarrett and Samantha Austin; and a nephew, Ray Roth.
He was predeceased by a son, Patrick Joseph.
