Ralph D. “Jake” Groff, 91, formerly of Allentown, died Sept. 29, 2016, in Whitehall Manor, Whitehall Township.
He was the son of the late Ralph D. and Amelia C. (Windbigler) Groff.
A 1949 graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, he became a certified public accountant in 1963.
He worked at various companies in the Lehigh Valley for more than 30 years as an accountant, auditor and financial analyst, the last 20 years of which he had his own business as a CPA.
He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts and the National Association of Accountants.
He was a member and past master of Greenleaf Lodge No. 561 F&AM, Allentown, a 32 degree Mason with Lehigh Consistory and the Rajah Shrine.
He honorably and faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
His survivors include a cousin Mae Gabel of Boyertown and longtime friend Paul Kunkel.
