Northampton: Business named award finalist

Congratulations to Appalachian Creations Inc., which has been named a finalist in the 2016 Lehigh Valley Business of the Year awards program.

The business is located at 139 W. 14th St.

Holy Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church, 1372 Washington Ave., will hold a flea market and bake sale 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 8.

The event is organized by the Ladies Aid group.

Orders are being taken for Country Cottage nut rolls. To order, call 610-837-0953 by Nov. 6.

Pick-up is 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 19 at the church.

St. John’s Friendly Fifties will meet 1 p.m. Oct. 10 in the church’s social hall, 1343 Newport Ave.

Accordionist Frederick Arnold will entertain.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet Oct. 12 at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave.

Doors open noon. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided.

The 2016 Jack Frost Parade, presented by the Northampton Exchange Club, will take place 7 p.m. Oct. 20.

Please note the route is altered this year due to a road closure. The parade will begin in front of Northampton Area High School on Laubach Ave. It will travel from Laubach Avenue to 19th Street, continuing to Main Street, then to 14th Street and back to Laubach Avenue.

The rain date is Oct. 27.

Northampton Area Public Library is looking for volunteers to teach weekly individual computer classes as well as volunteers to assist with weekly deliveries of materials to its homebound patrons.
