LaRue D. Friebolin, 98, formerly of Germansville, died Oct. 1, 2016, in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, South Whitehall.
She was the wife of the late Kermit L. Friebolin.
Born June 23, 1918, in Heidelberg Township, she was the daughter of the late Oscar J. and Della M. (Handwerk) Hensinger.
She was a dental assistant in Palmerton and Fullerton for 25 years before retiring.
A member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Heidelberg Union Church, Heidelberg Township, she played the piano for the Sunday School for more than 50 years.
She formerly volunteered her time in the first grade classroom at Northwestern Lehigh Elementary School for 25 years.
Her survivors include a son Barry K. Friebolin and his wife, Wanda, of Emerald; daughter Lenore M., wife of the Rev. Dr. Gene E. Handwerk of New Tripoli; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two nephews and one niece.
She was pre-deceased by an infant great-grandson and sisters Arlene Strauss and Verna Kocher Wolf.
