Friend says Ross Twp dig related to Holly Grim disappearance

A friend of Holly Grim has confirmed the police investigation in Ross Township, Monroe County, is related to the Lower Macungie woman’s disappearance nearly three years ago.

“The troopers have confirmed Holly’s the reason they’re there but it is an ongoing investigation so it will take some time,” Erica Seither of New Tripoli, emailed The Press on Monday.

Last week police began investigating at a house at 2368 Woodhaven Drive, off Kunkletown Road, Ross Township.

Detectives, forensic units, the Monroe County Coroner’s Office and even the Pennsylvania Game Commission were at the scene where neighbors reported seeing investigators digging on the property.

At one point, more than 20 police vehicles were on scene from several state police barracks.

The house is owned by Michael and Cathy Horvath. Michael Horvath worked at Allen Organ with Grim.

It’s not clear if the couple is still at the residence.

In addition to the grounds, police were also searching inside the house.

Grim, of Lower Macungie, has been missing since Nov. 22, 2013.

Kenny Hein of Kenny Hein Racing is a neighbor of Seither.

According to Seither, prior to her disappearance, Grim spent weekends in New Tripoli with her boyfriend, Dwayne Mory.

Mory is a member Hein’s pit crew.

Seither said Hein races late model vehicles at Mahoning Valley Speedway and Grim was up here nearly every single Friday and Saturday night as well as some additional weeknights while the men worked on the race car.

“From opening day in April to the final race of the season in October Holly could be found at MVS on Saturday nights,” Seither emailed The Press.

Grim disappeared from her home three years ago after dropping off her son at his bus stop.

Signs of a struggle were found inside her home, and she was listed as missing-endangered by state police.

Grim was described as being 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing 100 pounds.

At the time of her disappearance she had brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who may have information on Grim’s whereabouts is encouraged to call Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438 or Lehigh Valley Crime Stoppers at 800-426-1438.
