Vito Amato, 77, of Macungie, formerly of New York, died Sept. 17, 2016, in the home of his daughter. He was the husband of the late Rosaria (Gallina) Amato. Born in Carini, Italy, he was the son of the late Croce and Maria (Mannino) Amato.

He was a construction worker with Union #731 in New York for many years. He also worked for his son at Joe’s Pizza in Trexlertown.

He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.

He is survived by a daughter, Maria and her husband Gaetano Randazzo, of Macungie; son, Giuseppe “Joe” and his wife Angelica, of Macungie; brother, Pietro, of Carini, Italy; sister, Maria Passalacqua, of Carini, Italy; grandchildren, Rosa Maria Randazzo, Daniela Randazzo, Giannvito Randazzo, Vito, Rosa Maria and Josephine and nieces and nephews.
