The community of Laurys Station celebrated Community Day Sept. 17, at North Whitehall Community Park in Laurys Station by the Laurys Station Fire Department.
Several hundred people attended the annual celebration, put on in conjunction with St. John’s United Church of Christ, Laury’s Station. Winners of the chili cook-off were Rosemary Spagnola for her tastiest non beef recipe, Bess Roth for her tastiest beef chili, and the Hi Way Diner for the hottest chili recipe.
Proceeds from the contest benefited Agape New Testament Fellowship Food Pantry
Abigail Marushak won both the people’s choice and the judges award in the photo contest.
