The Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum (LVHM), 432 W. Walnut St., Allentown, opens its galleries free of charge along with other participating museums nationwide for the 12th annual “Museum Day Live!” Sept. 24.

Also at 1 p.m. Sept. 24 at LVHM, Stuart Lutz, television autograph expert for the History Channel program “Pawn Stars,” will present lecture and display, “Authenticating History,” concerning historical documents, letters and manuscripts. He will discuss detecting fakes and forgeries, including secretarial signatures, machine autographs, and out-and-out bogus signatures. Lutz’s book, “The Last Leaf,” will be available for sale.

The Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum is a 30,000-square-foot teaching institution with collections of historical Americana that include more than 35,000 three-dimensional objects, 3 million documents and more than 80,000 vintage photographs.

Exhibits include an overview of Lehigh Valley History and an interactive exhibition, “Energy Past and Present: Creating, Consuming & Conserving.”
