William F. Lackner

William F. Lackner, 72, of Egypt, Whitehall Township, died Sept. 17, 2016, in his home.

He and his wife Rosemarie (Heckman) Lackner were married 52 years.

Born Jan. 30, 1944, in Allentown,he was the son of the late George A. and Irene A. (Leabold) Lackner.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War earning the rank of sergeant.

He was a maintenance supervisor at the former Dent Manufacturing, Northampton, for 43 years before retiring in 2006.

He attended Egypt Community Church, Whitehall, and was a member of Grouse Hall, Ironton, Egypt VFW Post 7293 and American Legion Post 739, Hokendauqua.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Tina M., wife of Brian S. Smith, of Northampton, Dennis R. Lackner and his girlfriend, Melissa Serfass, of Germansville, Troy W. Lackner and his wife, Lori, of Whitehall; brother Richard Lackner of Missouri; sister Marlene, wife of Scott Boeman, of Gilbert; sister-in-law Faith Lackner, wife of the late George A. Lackner Jr.; grandchildren Cora Lynn Lackner and William J. Lackner; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother Dennis R. Lackner.
