Northampton Farmers Market will close for the season Sept. 27. Hours are 3-6:30 p.m.

The market is located at Uptown Park, 19th and Main streets.

Fall children’s program sign-ups at Northampton Area Public Library will begin Sept. 26 and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The library also will launch 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Sept. 26. The simple and enjoyable act of sharing books helps your child learn pre-reading skills, such as understanding the sounds letters make, developing a bigger vocabulary and building background knowledge - all important skills that help prepare your child for learning to read and entering kindergarten.

To participate in this program, all you have to do is register at the library and track your reading with your child.

Good Shepherd Catholic School will hold an early childhood education preview 10-11 a.m. Oct. 1 in the gymnasium of the school, 1300 Newport Ave.

This event is for parents and children entering preschool, pre-K and kindergarten.
