The Halloween parade sponsored by Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association, set for Oct. 18, has the same lineup of music organization it had in 2015 and prior years, except it is waiting to hear on whether East Hills Middle School of Bethlehem Area School District - always a crowd pleaser - will be back.

The lineup includes Whitehall High School Marching Zephyr Band, Rajah Temple, Wind Gap Blue Eagle Drum & Bugle Corp and Allentown Almost Marching Band.

Law enforcement personnel from across the Lehigh Valley currently have a presence at the municipal building and grounds. The periodic training by a qualified instructor is underway, certifying the personnel in training procedures on everything from martial arts to offensive or defensive postures.

The borough receives a subsidy for allowing the training to occur.

The borough is getting tough on property owners who mow their grass and let the clippings remain in the street. Additionally, for those who do not remove snow and ice from their sidewalks, borough lawmakers now have it on the books borough police officers can cite the property owner for such a violation.
